That will go alright, you can get old Gemini's for $300.
Is that 202 you have Carb or Injected?
The injected ones are a decent motor.
Even worked carby ones go alright for an old Holden 6 banger (obviously nothing in comparison to anything Toyota has ever done though). I know a guy who used to race Gemini's and swore by a hot 202.
Parts/knowledge is pretty damn easy to come by and the motor itself is VERY basic, if you had some sort of manual and patience I daresay a beginner could rebuild one with very little assistance (my mate did, first mechanical thing he ever touched).
All that said, don't ruin a Toyota with one (apart from said Corona, the bastard child of the Toyota cars).
The above opinion is just that - my opinion. It is not shared by any business that I am currently or have previously been involved with, nor any of their employee's.
RT142 corona. Find one that already has a 5 spd, get a dellow bellhousing or similar to suit the W5x, and sell the 22R-E to somebody wanting to put it in a Bundera Landy. Last RT142 I bought cost $500, had the 5 speed and avante rear disks, and I sold the donk for $500. So for this purpose, it would be a zero dollar purchase. The bog warmer diff should be up for it, and virtually nobody gives two shits about them.
EDIT: where abouts in QLD are you??
Cheers, Owen

We'll you are right, that was a bit rude of me.
adamke35 : please accept my apologies for my previous post, and welcome to the forums.
Seriously, you have a Holden motor, I am fairly sure there are already off the shelf parts to mate it to a Toyota gearbox and I'm sure it wouldn't be hard to find something it will bolt into.
But there are so many nice Toyota engines and not all of them cost the earth. Also there are plenty of older reasonably light Holden's that the 202 would slot back into.
Have you thought about selling the 202 and planning a build around the chassis rather than around an engine? Not that there is anything wrong with planning around an engine, just IMO not that one, no disrespect intended.

Hello.
the motor is fully rebuilt with a 40/80 cam, race bearings, straight cut gears yella terra head 12port with head work oversized valves roller rockers motor will be carbied with either webers, 390 holley or injection, got the holley and injection but tossin up which to run. i hate the look of the sunbird i was thinking bout a commodore but an xt130 sounds alright. i have a w box in the shed and the motors been sitting in plastic for about 4years since is was built,. so im sorta thinking of mating the 5spd and motor and dropping it in something. im in ipswich soon to be moving
Hi,
I'd triple-carb that worked 202 and run some nice extractors.

ahhh the 202 good old motor power of a 4 cylinder, torque of a 6 and economy of an 8 (in standard trim anyways). Mind you with those bits you got in yours already have to agree with river on trying to snaffle a triple carb setup and some extractors then into a rona or lux.
As for holden into toyota the last guy to do this see V6 into crown thread in engine coversions copped a lot of stick too and many tried to convince him to do it a different way. he did do it a different way in the end but i agree with a few others here if it works for you go for it. No one complains when people put 2J's into silvia's and 180's and the like 1UZ's into anything. If you think you can do it go for it if people dont have a positive opinion they should keep it to themselves it might not be what you would do but if he likes it and wants to then for the sake of his build give him directions on how to do it not how to get lost.
Wish I had a F#%ken awesome toyota.. saving for the goodness now.... stay tuned....

we'll if you look at it this way, the 202 would be a huge improvement over the old misfire engine in an xt130. I've only had a brief read but this might be helpful for you. http://www.rollaclub.com/board/index...howtopic=36277
And I'd personally much prefer you put it in an xt than an old corolla or celica![]()
