Man am I sick of seeing these threads. If you want to put a Holden motor into something, don't ruin a Toyota, find a Holden forum or post it on boost cruising or something.

Even people on boostcruising would tell you not to do it.
If you -had- to, I guess something like an old Corona wouldn't be -too- bad but it's still a heap of dicking around.
The above opinion is just that - my opinion. It is not shared by any business that I am currently or have previously been involved with, nor any of their employee's.

willwal89 why don't you donate him a Toyota Motor then if you are strongly against him using a motor that he already has?

maybe i could get a donated toyota motor off him then use the old holden technology of external linkage holden 4spd and weak diff just to keep it holden. instead of using a bellhousing and going a toyota strong internal linkage w series box and a hilux diff

No need to be such a prick about it?

Usually engine conversions started based on having "something in the shed" end up more trouble than they are worth, because unless you've got a shed full of 1j's, ls1s, etc..... what one usually has laying around in the shed isn't that flash... hehe. You end up spending more time and money on something that in the end isn't as good as just buying the right motor to start with.

All that said, if this 202 is the greatest thing since sliced bread () then whatever. But, don't forget that what you save on purchase price buying a toyota, could be lost again by the fact it won't bolt in like the holden. Out of what you've said i'd agree with the hilux as well because old ones are cheap, purists won't hate you for butchering an old classic, and they're solid...

Yeah the XT130 will be your best starting point for a cheap conversion, already have the Starfire 4 which is a Holden six with two cylinders chopped off.

if you really want something starfire powered, cheap, and easy to put the six in, surely the sunbird is a winner

About the only time the Sunbird comes out as a winner in a comparison...

    firstly... BWAHAHAHAHA!

Secondly, actually, yes... i completely agree! This would be the simplest, almost bolt in conversion you could do for a smallish, light, relatively strong car with a 202 in it.
and for your budget? that should be within your limits.

Old landrover. I have a s1 here that still has the old side valve in it. She could use a 202. Then you can drive around and pretend you are a leyland brother.

What about a VB-H Commodore, pretty light, handle OK and the hot 202 will bolt straight in.
