hmm US$150 for a heavy duty puck clutch?
some forums suggest they use Exedy pressure plates and own line discs... and the discs fail...
has anyone bought a clutch kit from ebay?
i am looking at an f1 racing clutch that says its all that, yet it is so cheap, its a headache taking the gearbox out of my st185 so i dont want to buy crap that will last only a year.....
has anyone fitted ebay clutch kits and if so, whats the performance and durability?
cheers

What is the risk I ask you?? If the clutch is made from inferior materials, it could crack and send pieces flying through the bellhousing, then through the floor of the car, and finally through your passenger. Is the risk worth the saving??
If it is a quality branded product at a bargain basement price, it could well be a second, or a cheap knock off that the authorities haven't cottoned onto yet. Again, are you willing to risk it??
The clutch is such a harshly punished piece of the car, and it spins at such an enormous rate that any failure is likely to be catastrophic. Personally I would pay the extra for a genuine known branded clutch, whether you get it 20% cheaper online with the associated freight times, or if you get it over the counter, at least you know the manufacturer is trying to keep a reputation for quality goods.
That's my thoughts anyway.

f1 racing clutch = valeo clutch
so consider it an OEM replacement but without the quality control. take their product claims on the ad with a pinch of salt as they do not hold the power they say.
cheapest OEM replacement is probably exedy/daiken - i just put one of these in an ST184 and am very pleased with how smooth and yet grippy it is. ive only done 20 mins driving on it so i cant say long term how it fares, but its certainly nicer than the PBR and Extreme ones that I have used in the past.
