aftermarket fuel sender in z20/a70 tank

hey guys,

have fitted an autometer "model 3262" universal fuel sender, and an autometer digital ( uses analog signal) fuel lever gauge,

problem is i cant seem to adjust the sender properly, it either hits the side of the tank, or when i think its adjusted properly it shows EO for error 90% of the time then randomly shows the fuel level .. faulty or not grounding properly?

edit: pretty sure ive fixed it.. it must of slightly been touching the fuel cradle.
can delete this thread unless someone else needs help with the same thing
