Can you adapt to most throttle bodies or require special one?

Spark plug changing funLooks like itb's?
You can adapt to anything, although the tb's i've seen have the throttle shaft stop very quickly on the TPS side. The shaft is stepped down (diameter, then cut rectangular again) to put a nut for the TPS actuator plate, which would make it hard to put a coupling of some sort for a linkage/shaft, especially if you go all the way across the front of your engine and want a return spring on the other throttle.
Those were all stock throttles, aftermarket might be a different story. Do you have space to meet the plenums back up in the middle?
least of your problems
get the manifolds and throttles sorted out, then the answer will become obvious. as said above, anything can adapt to anything. whatever the situation becomes, something can be made to work
atleast that philosophy wastes less energy pissing uphill in the meantime![]()

So when running two plenums they do need to join for balancing? does this join matter where, middle/back etc?
So before I start puchasing materials, does everyone concur that this design shall work acceptably? I do not hold any belief it will be the perfect and the best solution.
But as a starting point it seems very easy to fabricate, solves my hard to reach bolt hole problem as well as height problems.
I may try and adapt nissan 300zx twin throttles and linkages.
Any objections ?
Have you had a troll around the Z forums? Someone might be selling a whole manifold cheap? Looks very slim, could make an adapter to the lower runners.
Is a middle plenum definitely out?
Maxima V6 inlet mani could be an option...
I'll check one out for you Joel next time I'm at the wreckers.
The flange of a maxima v6 inlet looks very similar..
sorry for the really crappy phone pics, but saw this V6 Vectra motor at the wreckers today.
What wrecker was that?
I think i need to take scout around see what options are out there..

I was actually scouting out V6s for mine.
GT4 box comes closer to fitting a 2GR-FE, but the bellhousing-engine is all wrong.
GT4 box to 3MZ-FE (had a cut loom though) bolts up, but has the clearance issues just like the 1MZ-FE (ie lots of grinding)
Following on from a couple of pages ago - heres a photo of an ADM Honda V6 inlet manifold. All the Australian delivered ones are more or less the same, there are some subtle differences but nothing that really matters at this level of discussion.

Its in three pieces (as most discussed here seem to be), that top panel with the Honda embossed on the top removes to expose the bolts attaching the top section to the runners.
I'm only working at a honda dealer for a few more days so may not get a job on a v6 in that time but if I do I'll try and get a thickness measurement - at a guess I'd say definitely not more than 10cm high and probably more like your desired 6cm.
It is a relatively complex set up inside though, some even have a butterfly for a (I assume) variable length set up.

Finally, a members ride thread. I present project One Thing Lead to Another (nominations for a better name are now open)
