    Default rt142 wagon diff upgrade

    anyone know the diff width?

something like an mx13/23 f-series perhaps?
or a very early hilux, assuming one could be found? people are rude ****s, they snap these up for $100 then try to sell them for $500

    any suggestions would be good

looking for a cheap option, something that is strong but doesn't have to be shortened

ok well having done some research, i've found old threads showing a guys who measured their diffs. DIFFS people, DIFFS!

Anyway, RT142 live axle disc to disc 1430mm
RT142 live axle drum to drum 1420mm

I am assuming these were both sedans, but I've looked up a few sites and the track on sedan and wagon models is unchanged so it would be fair to assume (touch wood) that there is no difference, or certainly no major diffrence.

So, what F/G diffs are 1420-1430mm, or a touch shorter? Anyone got one on the cheap here in Bris?

There used to be a list once upon a time, but the link i found is dead.

    RN41 G series Hilux are 1410mm (5 stud)
MX13/23 F series Corona mark II are 1410mm (4 stud)
Sorry buddy, but you may have to pay a decent amount for them if you don't find them for yourself as they are becoming rare, especially the MX13/23 ones

A guy on AE86DrivingClub has a Tarago F-series ready to go into his, from a YR22 i think.

Mounts changed over, unsure what he's doing for handbrake cables, RT142 IRS tailshaft rear half, not too bad. It's the right width at least.
