Default 1993 Ae94 seca - air blower not working on settings 1 and 2

    Hi to all
i have a 1993 ae94 corolla seca. The problem i have is on air blower settings. On 1 and 2 the fan does not operate but setting 3 and 4 do....i am thinking a fan resistor or fan relay, however not to sure and would like to know if anyone could give me a hand with this topic. Any help with this thread is much appreciated
p.s i had to cut photo quality to add pic but still should be clear enough

    Cheers

Common issue with old resistors they will wear out on the lower settings as these are the ones used the most. If it was the relay it would not work at all, mine used to trip the relay on full ball but on any other setting it was fine. But once it tripped you'd have to reset the relay to get it working again.
    If in doubt power out

I have the same car and the same issue, and had the same issue on a previous corolla.

Thank you very much, very pleased to know I can just replace the resistor! If you do end up sourcing the part please post the part number - I would also prefer to purchase new rather than a wreckers.

Google says located under the passenger dash, is that correct?

    Cheers

Normally they just break (they are literally a coil of wire)

So you just remove the shortest section and resolder from the break (I've never been able to resolder the break before).

I've fixed a few this way.

Very common for the lower speeds to die.

    hey all found the culprit
as most expected the fan speed resistor lol.
Firthy heres a pic so you know.....the location is fairly easy to find, right next to the blower fan there will be a lead running into it with about 4 wires running into the lead. Disconnect the lead. Remove the one screw holding the plate in and then remove it. replace it with new fan speed resister and good to go

Had exactly the same problem to my Honda Civic EG ... I pulled another control unit (the switches panel) off the wreck that my friend had and replace it direct ... somehow, it works!!! cost me nothing lol
