Are AE71 hubs the same as AE86 hubs?

According to toyodiy, they all share the same part numbers for the bearings, bolts etc etc, but the actual hub itself is different. Can somebody confirm if there is a physical difference between them, i.e. one is thicker than the other etc?
All i need to know really is if my old AE71 hub will work with on a AE86 strut?

The AE71 hub "holds" a solid rotor, the AE86 hub "holds" a vented rotor.

I don't know YOUR project, so I'm assuming.......... the strut from the AE86 is required to run the vented brakes. Mounting the AE86 hub/rotor onto the AE71 strut isn't the issue, the AE71 strut doesn't accept the wider caliper required to mount the AE86 vented rotor

Or do I not have grasp of your issue???

Oz spec AE86 rotors aren't vented.

oldskewltoy: Thanks for your reply, you have sort of got it. Im putting in ae86 struts into the ae71, and hoping to reuse the ae71 hubs, as i dont have any ae86 ones, to use ae86 vented disks/ calipers etc. WDE_DBY is correct in saying that adm ae86 didnt have vented disc.
However, the adm (solid disk) hub and the jdm (vented rotors) hub for the ae86 have the same part number, so it seems that the difference in rotors shouldn't matter.
From what i can gather, it should mount up fine, and as long as its the same thickness etc then it should be fine.
I need someone who has both to put them side by side!!
