Default Fanbelt from hell (non Toyota)

Recently the AC belt in my old mans 2.6 TF rodeo went, today I looked up the appropriate Bosch part and went to supershit to buy one. All was good, until I tried to fit the fucking thing.

As far as I can tell there is a small bolt tensioner and nothing else, loosened that right off but that doesn't change the fact that its impossible to get the belt around the crank pulley. Am I doing something wrong here?

I would probably say that maybe you need to get a bigger one then, the bosch books arnt very good and have found from time to time that they can be wrong

Is there a tensioning function built in to the mount of the alternator/PS/AC etc? Quite often this is the case.

Not that I can see, looks like it has 4 bolts holding it on. All the other belts are piss easy to change, everything pivots.

I've come up with a workaround, I did a belt swap with the power steering pump. The belt is a tad loose on the AC though, its being dropped off for a service soon though. His car, his problem
