I would probably say that maybe you need to get a bigger one then, the bosch books arnt very good and have found from time to time that they can be wrong
Recently the AC belt in my old mans 2.6 TF rodeo went, today I looked up the appropriate Bosch part and went to supershit to buy one. All was good, until I tried to fit the fucking thing.
As far as I can tell there is a small bolt tensioner and nothing else, loosened that right off but that doesn't change the fact that its impossible to get the belt around the crank pulley. Am I doing something wrong here?

Is there a tensioning function built in to the mount of the alternator/PS/AC etc? Quite often this is the case.

Not that I can see, looks like it has 4 bolts holding it on. All the other belts are piss easy to change, everything pivots.
I've come up with a workaround, I did a belt swap with the power steering pump. The belt is a tad loose on the AC though, its being dropped off for a service soon though. His car, his problem![]()
