Default G series Soarer/Supra LSD Rebuild

I just had my LSD rebuilt by a place here in Melbourne and they warned me that it may be noisy due to the wear on the ring and pinion. I was optimistic and told them to go ahead however the thing whines at 60km/hr so I am going to swap in a new ring and pinion.

My question is: Does anyone know/own a shop that has pinion shims and side washer (the ones used to set backlash and carrier bearing preload) in Melbourne?

I'm doing this myself and finding somewhere that can supply me these shims is going to make this either reasonable or painful. I checked with Toyota and most of these have to be shipped in from interstate.

    Thanks for yout help,

    Rob

More than likely the shims you have will be the correct size. I swapped a supra diff into a cressida housing and ended up using the same shims and it came in perfectly backlash wise..

Thank you Andrew! Precision Shims looks like it will be an invaluable resource.

yeah they are awesome and usually pretty cheap (u notice a couple of bucks a shim when doing valve clearances on a 24v head lol)

and anything they dont have in stock (not much) they will custom make for u and pretty quick too
