Default AE80 Lead / Distributor Help

    Hi,

I've got my leads all number (1,2,3,4)

Just wondering which sparkplug ( in the engine ) is 1 ? 2 ? 3 ? 4? and which bar on the dizzy does it goto?

(summary) LEADS LOCATION FROM ENGINE TO DIZZY

Trying to get car to start just had to get all the leads

Any help appreciated. Photo would be good of yours if you have one.

    Thanks!

which engine is in your ae80?...

basically what you need to do FROM SCRATCH if you dont know where or what lead is what or where they go...

    1) take the dizzy cap off and start your engine, see which way the rotor button spins, thats which way you start putting your leads on...

    2) put the engine on top dead centre, (cylinder 1 TDC on compression stroke, cylinder 4 on the rock)

    3) where the rotor button points is number 1 on the dizzy cap

    4) following the direction in which the rotor button spun when the engine was cranking, put your leads on corrisponding with the engine firing order, which is probly 1-3-4-2

that my friend, is how your put your leads on correctly if youve taken them off and didnt mark where they go =)

Has the cap got any numbers on it? They do sometimes.

Firing order is 1-3-4-2. If you can find No. 1 on the dizzy, by a marking or whatever, then go clockwise from there. If there is no marking, just keep them in the 1-3-4-2 order and move them round the dizzy one spot at a time until it runs.

On the engine No 1 is closest to the drivers side guard.
