1UZ's give the ECU +12v to enable PWR.
I can only presume that yours is the same.
With PWR on, the kickdown is quicker, it will kick down 2 gears instead of one, and it will rev out to almost redline, where at with PWR off, it will change ~1000rpm before redline.
I can't say the 2JZ will be the same, just trying to suggest what may happen.
