With all due respect Rod, what cost?
I thought people paid for their dyno run(s) for the same cost (if not a bit more) than the dyno places charges the Club? (at least this is how the ones I've been to work)
Or has the Club been subsidising the cost to keep the fees down?

The club needs something like 35 cars to run to break even on the cost of hiring the workshop for the day. Basically a flat fee to hire the workshop/dyno out for the day and the club then needs X no. of cars to run to meet cost anything above that is then profit/fund raising for the club. If it wasn't for the BBQ at recent days they would of probably run at a loss as it has been a struggle to get 35 cars to run.

Not sure whether ppl are just over the hype of dyno days now but wind back a couple years and a winter days would be filled by 10am.
    If in doubt power out

For sure, but if you don't get the cars, doesn't the day get cancelled, or get subsidised by another club helping out?

Or has the day always gone ahead regardless of the number of cars ?

    Cuzzo,

When Toymods started running Dyno Days there really wasn't any other Toyota Clubs around and people came from Canberra and Newcastle and we had really large turnouts.

Now every other workshop has a dyno, there are model specific and breakaway Clubs for just about every variety of Toyota and they have there own Dyno Days. As such people go to Dyno days other than ours and there just isn't a reason for anyone to travel a long way to attend other than the social aspect.

And Rona is right, we pay a flat rate to hire the Dyno and services of the Guys at SAS and then there is the trophies and outley for food and drink, Ice etc.

As a rough guide we generally outlay over $2k for a Dyno Day.

And yes we run it regardless and use the flat rate system to keep costs low.
