Default Show Car Sunday - Rosehill Gardens - 31st Jan, 2010

    We’re back!
On January 31, 2010, Rosehill Gardens is set to rumble with the sights and sounds of Australia’s most spectacular exhibition of automotive culture. Showcar Sunday is back for its second year!

Last year’s inaugural show played host to superstars like Anthony ‘The Man’ Mundine, music artists DJ Jam (Snoop Doggy Dogg’s DJ – direct from America), celebrity choreographer, Nacho Pop and Rhiannon (from Channel 10’s hit show So You Think You Can Dance), and Darren Mcmullen from MTV. If you thought this line up was huge, then you can’t miss the next instalment of Showcar Sunday. It’s going to be off the charts!
    Bigger Than Ever

After the success of last year’s show, Showcar Sunday has moved to Rosehill Gardens. The bigger venue was necessary to accommodate the anticipate increase in crowds and the surge of entries we’ve experienced.

Showcar Sunday showcases the angled classic lines of supercharged muscle, the elegant flowing lines of high performance imports and the intricate engineering of custom choppers. The level of craftsmanship is set to be outstanding. Australia builds some of the best cars in the world, and the best Sydney has to offer is going to be on display on January 31, 2010.

    Hi,

    $110 to enter!!!!

And even then... on one page they say all cars (including classics), and yet on the entry form they say "car must be modified to enter".

They're getting Anthony "The Man" mundine along as a celebrity guest... and also those Parramatta Eels shitheads. That's a very uncool line-up.

Finally, I don't agree to with the entry/trop[hy categories.

Result is, I won't be entering and I doubt I'd be forking out $20 to spectate. However, they are doing this to help charity and shine a better light on the car enthusiasts image. I wish them luck and hope the show goes well for them.

    You reckon?

We built a handful (or less) of fine cars many years ago... but I've not seen anything impressive come out of an Australian manufacturer in over 30 years.

Still, it could an interesting show to go and have a look at some nicely modifed machines.

I read that to mean that Australia builds some of the best 'show or modified' car in the world. I think our very best cars are of a high standard and maybe comparable to Americas. However at a recent showing of Melbournes best cars, a car from America (I think it was a Boyd custom) one by miles. So I think we still have a fair way to go.
As for our 'modern' cars if anyone did anything original that didn't simply consist of throwing mega dollars at something average to create something average I'd die of shock.

There were a few cars down at Summernats that I would love to see attend this event, check out hot rod and classic shows and you'll see some of the masterpieces that Australia is coming out with, very able to keep up and even beat Americas quality of cars...

Not every car is everyone's cup of tea, thats why the show is open to all makes, models and styles...
