Question Rear End body mods to an E7????

I did a styling exercise to look at the potential for a mild customized rear bumper to complement my custom front one.

Now, there is always the option of trying to make a rear tube bumper, but I had a slightly different thought in mind.

"an artists" rendition - yeah RIGHT! poorly drawn using a mouse, but you get the idea. The black would be actually closer matched to the rest of the trim

I decided to "shave" the license lamps, and move them into the now slightly taller , yet thinner, rear bumper, the alcove that is hidden with the new bumper makes a perfect recess for hidden license lamps. Now not to make myself unsafe... I fully intend to use SUBSTANTIAL box section to make the bumper, and attach it to the stock brackets.

I got the idea from a mid/late 80s Esprit, the Esprit had "LOTUS" carved into the bumper. I wasn't going to do that(carve the bumper), but I could and have it read "LEVIN", since it is a Levin...... again, that is NOT likely what I'd do, just another thought.

Here is a current view of the car - bumper, spoiler and grill not installed here.

Hmmmm, no opinions? I'm not looking to get reamed, nor do I want a gentle wind blown up my skirt, but 44 of you have seen this, and no one has even the slightest thought, or suggestion???????

And to answer your 1st question, I'm looking for your opinion of changing the rear end appearence of my AE71 cpe by shaving the license lights, and making a new rear bumper

here is a better description of the "recess" I speak about in the above post....

I'll just mount license lamps under the top skin of the bumper, in the area between the purple dots, and they'll shine up from the recess

Haha, mate mods to a cars appearance are usually quite a personal thing...
Some will love em and others will always hate them...
But if you get it all looking in proportion and asthetically pleasing in the end then nearly everyone will love it!

As far as the rear bumper mod you propose I recon it HAS to be better than whatever that abortion sticking out the back from the factory is!!!

    Cheers,
    Jason

For the lights, just get the bolts that have lights built in. The cleanest way I've seen to do them.
