doesnt list "group A" cams for an st185, is there even a difference?

there seems to be a bit of a variance in the specs i have found..
a few questions..
i know there not massively bigger than normal Gen 2 cams..
but how much more duration/lift vs normal Gen 2 cams
and is the timing any different, if the are did they use different gears, or different pin location? should i look at maybe altering the stock gear to retard the exhaust cam (read this somewhere)
i have some Group A cams to put into a bit of a tweaked Gen 2 (Garret, motec, forgies etc etc), just wanna know what to expect, will i actually notice the difference or am i just pissing in the wind and not really worth the effort?
cheers,
p.s. Cuts - i have been told you might be able to help with the cam timing question!?

Whilst I understand you are after road going 3SGTE Group A specs.
I do have the specs for the race cars, the runs were performed on our Superflo 901 engine dyno back in the day.
this is the info I have, as well as dyno printouts
3SGTE, Toyota GT4, 2000cc
exhaust cam 304deg, set up at 104deg
intake cam 312deg set up at 116deg
Fuel computer GS76 chip
Timing GS037
8.1:1 CR
Turbo, TO3 compressor
TO4 exhaust
Peak power was 343.2hp @ 6500
peak torque was 299.8ftlb @ 4750
engine was only revved to 6500rpm.
yeh i was after the road going versions..particularly the ADM ST185 Group A cams..
they friggen better be bigger! i just bought a set on the provisor they were definitly bigger!![]()
I am pretty sure they are identical, in fact I believe the heads are identical.
According to TOYODIY -
Both the RC (Group A in aus) and the Standard 185 share the same part numbers as far as cams go.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.
ST185 GrpA #116
ST165 GT4 Project Car - Soon with v6 goodness.
The glass is neither half empty nor half full, rather the glass is twice as big as it needs to be.
I've just measured the lift of both Group A and standard ADM ST185 cams and they are the same - 9.55mm (measured by subtracting the base circle from the cam "knuckle" height). Where I do see a variance is in measurements taken at the start and finish of the cam, of approx 0.4mm (ie slightly more duration). While I will admit my measurements are somewhat rudimentry, without profiling the cam, this would lead me to place more faith in the rumour that Group A cams are slightly different from standard cams.
Regardless Matt, if you decide you don't want them, I have no issues in refunding your money - I would rather have you happy with your decision either way than feeling uneasy over a set of cams.
the cams that i am replacing are JDM GT4 celica cams..
the halfcut when purchased had an ordinary bonnet scop (like the ADM GT4) and a ceramic wheel'd CT26.. if that helps anyone..
according to Toyodiy - the inlet cams are the same.. the ex cams are different between JDM/ADM...
maybe i should just get some regrinds.. or plain old NA cams lol..
