What turbo for a1jz-vvti

Hi,

I see many 1jz running GT3071r's, any reason behind taking the 3076 over the 3071?

have chosen the 3076 as it is an externally wastegated turbo and pushes more air than the 3071r. from what i can tell..have only just started researching..

my pick GT3582R (714568-5002) good for 300-400KW

have just put a 3582R with .63 rear housing onto a non-vvti 1J, running an adaptronic. On a base tune which is pig-rich, it makes 0.9bar just before 4000rpm when accelerating in 4th gear. It's getting tuned on saturday and should come on a bit earlier once it gets some more ignition and less fuel. The goal for that one is 300kw atw, will know what boost is required to make that after saturday.

I'd guess you could make it come on earlier tuning the vvt.
