Alright well this seems to work ok

No signs of slippage, belt isnt ridiculously tight... might just get away with it![]()
As i said my setup which was temporary worked ok and I only used a narrow belt as it was all I could get at the time

i reckon thats going to slip like a mothafucker! like really really think thats not going to workmy pulley wrap as per way earlier posts was *barely* enough, the belt was tight, and it DID slip on occasions. i ended up underdriving the crank and alt pullies to help make it more manageable.

Mine worked with a narrower belt and less tension so that should be ok.

Bear in mind i dont have anything other than the electrical essentials in this car (no a/c, hifi, demister etc), also that i am using a bigger alt pulley than you Ed
I loaded it up as much as i could (headlights, wipers, fans and full lock on teh PS) and there was no sign of slippage
I was also a bit sceptical that this would work, only tried it as the easiest option. I'll keep the old alt-only belt in the car in case of emergencies
Yeah, they fit. they need a very slight mod though, but its no biggie

Looks like a neat solution & I have seen some one else do a very similar / same idea, to me the lack of wrap around the Alternator pulley looks to be a slip worry though in High Alternator load situation's though ..
I will have to find out once its running, mind you if I find the 1uz to be not enough power in a 1050kg car, I will be forced to add forced induction and the belt arrangement will have to change again![]()

Kind of weird to login to Toymods for the first time in a very long time and find this thread on the front page which I started years back!
Anyway looks like a very neat solution, I like it a lot better than the 7M solution. Were any modifications necessary or was it a straight bolt up?

bloody hell he lives
Or just do this and use a bracket off the alt as the tensioner....good belt wrap and one less pulley to worry about.

Yeah Norbie, Straight bolt on job, needed a new pulley anyhow as my 1u tensioner pulley bearing was gone.
Justen that is another way of doing it, and was considered. will see if i have belt slip problems before traveling that route though
