Where might one get a spare oil dipstick for the
Corolla KE70, 4K engine ?
Virtually no parts store, including salvage yards,
in Malaysia has it, as it is not a commonly sold item.
The salvage yards can't take it out from their engines
to sell it, as that would leave the engine without one.
My dipstick is still usable, but the rubber grommet on top
has hardened from years of heat, causing some oil leakage.
I've wrapped some white teflon tape around it in the meantime.
Furthermore, once the mechanic nearly lost it when he
misplaced it during an oil change. That's when one
realizes how crucial the dipstick, and keeping a spare one,
can be.

For a moment I thought this forklift dipstick was usable
since the part number was nearly identical !
