Default power windows - early celica

    Hi guys,

after reading riceburners post on fixing the window rollers, i am keen on power windows again.

i have searched and found this thread - http://www.toymods.net/forums/showth...=power+windows

but with no definitive answer on whether it fits early celicas.

anyway, i was after any comments or experiences using aftermarket power window kits, or modifying other model ones to fit.

    Cheers
    Stew

just grab some MX62 power window regulators and use the motor part on your regulator. i used MX62 motors on my RA40....it worked fine up until now.....needs a little TLC.

you do have to cut both regulators at the same point to make a hybrid unit....if the RA23/28 regulator s are the same as RA40 ones then its do-able. i suppose as long as the gears have the same pitch and height then it should work

Will the MX62 motor part fit a ta22 or will it only fit ta23 onwards?

possibly.....i guess your half way there if the gears are the same pitch and height. all custom from there though.

it involves cutting your ta22 regulator and graphing on a section of the MX62 regulator. not something you want to stuff up

I used one of those aftermarket kits. As long as your existing windows are nice and smooth it shouldn't be a problem.

Stew, I used the aftermarket kit on my car about 3-4 years ago. Mine were the ones that slide over the existing winder. No real issue to fit, just needed to find a suitable position to sit the motor. Still working well with no issues.

i'll be fucking around with this sometime in the future.... will have to make another guide

I think the other BIG thing to look at doing is cleaning and re-greasing the running channels and replace the nylon sliders with new ones

This is something I've always thought about doing too, but I want to have my back windows motorised too. Then I'd like to wire them up so both F & R wind up/down together.
Anyone with a '22 or '23 tried motorising the rears? Do RA40s have rear windows that wind down?
I imagine it would be a real pain in the ass to do, as the rears are an absolute bitch to remove/install/align.

RA40 rears are fixed wormie. I too saw that kit on ebay Sean... the box looks like its got a genuine stamp... if anyone can find a supplier of these, tack a few bux on and sell them on toymods... ill buy a set. If rears can be found for gen 1s, then Ill buy a set of them too.

barned... ra40 have a different setup for their guide, but i believe the regulator uses the same drive theory... so it should fit, but be sure before you pass on the dough.
