Default Does thi CT-26 look hi-flowed?

Hey guys can you all tell me if this Gen 2 CT-26 looks hi-flowed at all. I've never seen any other CT-26's so I can't make any comparison. I just figured the previous owner wouldn't have port/polished the head with big set of cams, remove TVIS etc without a bigger turbo, so just curious if anything has been done to this. Cheers

I've tried some info on the net but not much luck. From what I've read I think if anything it could be a CT20b comp wheel?

    Comp wheel diameter is 46.5mm
    Turbine wheel diameter is 53mm

    Cheers

It has been hiflowed. not much though, probably 46trim, maybe less. The ct26 50trim i had was larger.

    the rear housing looks standard.

Doesnt look it to me. Hi flows generally lose a bit of the "cone" shape on the housing leading into the blades, that looks to have it all there

    Here's a stockie

Yeah, the 3S jobs are only a 40mm comp wheel IIRC, even so it doesnt look modified to me. The exhaust is def 3S, as it has the split wastegate flap setup going whereas 7M only has a single flap and no split pulse

Measure the wheel. That'll give us all some closure

    Well there you go then

I should look more closely. looks like your front wheel is 6 odd mm bigger then

You coulda googled the factory specs

Yeh I cant seem the find the factory specs, that was my only problem lol.

    Anyone have them on hand?
What would an extra 6mm on the compressor wheel mean? Quicker spool or more laggy?

The Gen 2 CT-26 is supposedly good to run about 15psi safely, does the bigger wheel mean I can run it a little higher, 16, 17, 18psi safely?

Im a little undereducated when it comes to turbos heh.

3rd google result for "CT26 wheel sizes"

Theres a table at the bottom with specs. Theyre in imperial but a good imp-metric converter will solve that

    http://www.alltrac.net/tuning/turbo.html

My high flow on the 7M actually made the engine slightly more responsive. It's the size of the exhaust housing that makes the big difference here, so when you have the same size exhaust housing and wheel spinning up a bigger front wheel youre getting more air with (theoretically) a similar lag

Yes, you should be able to run more boost than a smaller wheel before the turbo becomes inefficient and starts pumping mega hot air or just runs out of puff

Here's the compressor map for a similar to stock 3S CT26 compressor

    Interesting read too

    http://www.mrcontrols.com/primers/sizing.htm

Learning to read these will help you determine the effective operating range for any upgrade youve got or are looking at

looks like 7m wheels in a 3s turbo coz the rear wheel is steel also but the factory 3s one isnt.
