Just called the Comfort Inn in Benalla and spoke with Jenny, there are rooms available for the friday sat and sun nights with 6 rooms only left.

I was going to call her back and book for myself a room, they are a queen bed, with toilet shower fridge etc and its $102 per night.

Who is in, im going to book at least my room tonight.

All 6 of those rooms are 'queen rooms' which don’t meet our needs.

As it is just you and your partner, perhaps it might be better for you to organise where the two of you sleep. Like Slim said it is more than likely that we will be staying at the Benalla Leisure Park. When I have definite numbers on who requires a Hotel room I will make a reservation. At the moment there are 8 people, include yourself and your partner.

Jez last year I stayed at the Glider Motor Inn. Slim organised it and I know the owner from when my old v8 team went testing at winton in years past.

I will find out what they charge, the rooms are clean and comfortable and the owner is a fellow petrol head. I might even opt to stay there again.

Glider City are booked out. They have two queen rooms for the night of the 22nd only.

Oh, and the owner was a douchebag last time.

Douchebag clearly is a matter of opinon. I have known him for 3 years now and aside from wanting to talk cars constantly, find him harmless enough.

Depends what created the douchebag opinion I imagine.

Definitely a matter of opinion. We've only met him once and i'm sure Ed and Alison will agree that he didn't leave us with a good feeling about staying at his motel. The actual place was fine though.

Glider City still have one room, a quad room (so two doubles I think) $105 per night plus $15 per extra person.

They did have two, but I have booked one with a spa. Ohhh the luxury!! You blokes can enjoy your camping, I will enjoy my spa

Further to the above.. I received an email from Neil Choi last night asking for expressions of interest from clubs/teams.

I have just forwarded him the Team Rising Sun one. Eddie tells me Team Celica is under control, so I am assuming someone in the team got the same email last night?

Took quite a bit of calling, but booked some accomm in Glenrowan (everything in Benalla was booked - except for powered sites) for the 23rd...

Now, in the Winton calendar, it has Friday 22nd listed as part of the event also... What's on the Firday as I may need ot ad the Friday to my accomm booking?

Most people arrive on Friday afternoon / evening, as you need to be at the track pretty early Saturday morning.

However if you feel like getting up at sparrows and driving on the Sat morning, no real need. Just might be a tad weary by the end of the day.
