21RC wont kick over

Im having some troubles with my 21rc motor not kicking over. Ive had troubles with it intermittently cutting out and at time will restart ok or might take a few shots or to the point the battery dies. My first shot was a coil. Fitted a new coil and car wont kick over. Fitted coil that was previously in the vehicle and still no go. I spent 2 hrs trying to get this thing going so i swapped dizzy cap, igniter, feed leed, rotor and even mixing matching from another 21rc motor and ignition system, still no go for the day. Went out the next day and started first shot. Later that day tried again and no go, Charged battery o/night and tried again monday after work started first shot. Let vehicle run for 5 - 10 mins then shut car down myself. 20 mins later thought i wud try to start it and yep nothing.

Has anybody had similar problems or know where i could poss go from here cos i am stumped!!!!

Check the fusible links that come from the battery to make sure there is no corrosion causing a bad contact. If it only cuts out at idle it could be your fuel cut solenoid on the carby playing up or a bad connection on your engine fuse that the power goes through to get to the fuel cut solenoid.

Can you define it further?

Does it crank (ie, is the motor being turned by the starter motor) but not start?
If so, does it start to 'catch' (ie, does it sound like it wants to start, but just can't?)
Or are you getting no movement anywhere?

when you say no go does the motor turns over (even it doesn't fired up) ... if it doesn't turn over then you might wanna look at your starter motor as it is playing up ... got similar problem on 4AGE before and solved with new starter motor.

It wasnt firing cranking ok

Have solved the prob now. Sensor within distributor assembley was playing up. Suspect fins on shaft of distributor not breaking a beam as u could say. Swapped over from another vehicle i had and no probs so far.

After fitting new plugs coil etc car goes like a dream now!!!
