R block so yes, same pattern and you could get a W50 from an RA23/28/40 and attach it - but you'd be better off finding a 22RE manual from an RA65 as it will come with a W55/57 box and bellhousing to suit.
Hi all
I guess this has been asked before
does a 21r-c have the same bellhousing bolt pattern as the 18r-c?
I think i read that input shafts are the same.
I did a search but when you only get dialup speed !!
Thanks

I got a w50 steel case in my 40 now but the engine is cactus can get a going rusty 60 for $150 its auto but thats no biggy.
going to use a few things off the 60 to get the 40 going again. then I will flog off the 60
have been looking for a 22re but no luck, a whole car with 22re would be better.
If I had the cash I would stick a 3sge beams engine with the 6 speed from a lexus only 6 grand!! or even a 2L or 2.3L duratec with quad throttle bodies
Finding a 18rg is getting firgn hard and pricey for one that needs a rebuild
And I want something efi, I know the 20r-c is not efi

Update for who ever needs to know
The box bolts upto 21r
all that is required is to drill new dowel holes. Use 21r spacer plate as template)
the 18r's flywheel fits, all that is required is to drill the bolt holes out to 11mm
modified sump and oil pick up.
put new front and rear main seals in.
so wiring done, this weekend its cut and shut ra60's front exhaust onto ra40's exhaust
put the oils in, coolant in and get the fuel up
and away we go.
will change diffs over next weekend the 60 is a 3.9 and has sway bar.
