Jeez, Finland and those other small, weird northern countries sure produce a lot of hell tough 18RGs in various guises?

they seem to have this theory that if you go fast enough, you'll miss the trees - i think they're just crazy vikings.

That's awesome, I had no idea there was another rare 18RG variant! awesome stuff... I've just got my 2.2L 18RG running, and it's impressive, I can only imagine what a 280hp 152E must be like to drive let alone one of the 600+hp turbo'd versions!

    Hi,

finally found this very interesting thread...
Why do you think it't a shame? The RA40 was homologated in the Grp. 4 as Coupe and Liftback with this engine. I thought it is an good idea to put a 152e into a Liftback cause it is unique.
If from interest Jorma from Finland is selling 152e valvecovers and inlet manifolds (look on rallycarsforsale.net).

Well - still working on the english page - so far feel free to ask me..

    Regards Dieter

Here are some comparisons between 18r, 18rg and 152e - hope you like it....!

18r Block (on top) vs. 18RG head vs. 152e head

Interesting are the different kind of water channels that are closed. Water holes of the 152e 1, Cylinder are smaller. There is no internal return of oil in the 152e head. This is done external by a hose direct into the drysump-oilpan.

    Different headgaskets

    Crankshaft (18r left / 152e right)

Don't forget to close the red marked hole - otherwise you don't have any oil in your 152e head.

    Regards Saphir

    Hi,

A museum... a Toyota one or just a general car museum?

Sounds good and would like to see what's in this museum.
