    Default fwd offsets... 35,38, 41?

looking at rims for my ae82. i have a choice of:

    15 x 7 +35
    15 x 7 +41
    16 x 7 +43
    17 x 7 +43

I currently have 16x7s that are spot on but aren't marked for offset. anyone know what i should be going for? this might decide the rim size for me.

Shifty, simply measure your existing rim offset.

Step 1, place a straight edge across the face of the tyre, and measure from the straight edge to the rear of the mount face of the wheel.

Step 2, repeat the procedure at the inside if the wheel, again measuring to the hub mount face.

Step 3, add the two measurement together and divide by 2. This will give a measurement for zero offset.

Step 4, take the number you got at step1, and subtract that from the measurement you got at step 3(zero offset), this is your current offset.

This works regardless of rim size and tyre size, as it is working off the imaginary line which would slice a wheel into two identical halves.

    cheers Chuck.
