Default Swaybar for KE70 panelvan? (leaf rear)

Hey everyone, looking to fit a rear swaybar to my ke70 Panelvan. Its a leaf rear end (s series diff). These cars don't have a factory swaybar.

I can get a "kit" through Selby, but they are around $250. They also attach by using "U" bolts which i don't really like.

Im keen to try and fit a swaybar from another car that is leaf rear end. Has anyone tried this on a leaf rear corolla or similar? What fitted up reasonably easy?

I'm going to hit up the local pick-a-part wrecker and have a look around when i get a chance, but any heads up or ideas would be much appreciated

    Cheers,

Have you considered just butchering a s series diff and chassis sway bar mounts out of a ae71 for its sway bar mounts and just welding them onto your current diff and chassis rails? seems like would be a fairly simple operation.
Or you could find a series 2 t series diff and rear tail shaft with sway bar mounts and perform a diff upgrade at the same time?

Or similarly just get a stock ae71 or ae86 s series diff, cut off the spring perches and just bolt on your leafs on.

Thanks for that. does a s series ae86 and an ae71 borg warner have the same swaybar mount locations? Think the swaybars are interchangable between the two cars...

Im 99% sure that they are the same. I bought an ae86 swaybar to go into my ae71, but havent fitted it yet, however im quite certain they are the same in terms of mount etc but they may differ in ratios etc. the auto is definately different ratio to the manual. There will be some info around on here or ae86 driving club im sure.

Firstly, the correct name is anti-roll bar not sway-bar. A sway-bar is used to help keep caravans from swaying from side-to-side when being towed.
Secondly, you don't want an ARB on a live-axle car as all it'll do is help pick up the inside tyre and make it spin easier.

Sway bar, stabilizer bar, anti-sway bar, roll bar, anti-roll bar aka same thing. no one seemed to have a problem working out what i meant in my original post...

    edit: dont worry.
