I've been over so many bloody rt132s looking for this mythical 'more offset' hub and have yet to find one. Every set I've looked at have been exactly the same as xt130 ones /end rant

i understand the idea of leading and trailing pistons, but on an ae86 they end up back to front. believe me, i did a set of brake pads at Wakefield as a result. they are fine for celicas and stuff where you put the caliper at the rear of the rotor, but the sprinter has to have them on the front.

Yeah that is the big negative of the different-size ones, since you have to run them on the rear of the rotor they clash with the steering arms in some applications.

I've got the callipers with same size pistons, and now i'm using the ta22 steering arm i could set it up with the calipers to the rear.

I thought i would give you a hand.
I looked into this in the part catalogue.

Hub Assy front for Aus manufactured XT13# is 43502-29015-A
Hub Assy front for Jap manufactured RT13# is 43502-29015
Superceedes to new version 43502-29035 currently available, $204.00 list+GST.

The "A" suffix for aus manufacutred version indicates a locally sourced part which IS IDENTICAL IN SPEC AND FUNCTION TO THE JAPANESE NUMBER (sans "A") and CAN BE USED INTERCHANGABLY WITHOUT MODIFICATION. This means that there is NO MATERIAL DIFFERENCE between 43502-29015-A (XT130) and 43502-29015 (RT132) EXCEPT that 43502-29015-A was made here, presumably for cost of supply or local content proportion reasons. They are ABSOLUTELY NOT different in hub offset in any way.

Whoever originally propogated that myth needs to buy some mitutoyo vernier calipers not the plastic kind you get from Bunnings for $3.99.

    hope this helps

Fair enough on the hubs, just trying to work out why mine works with the standard arms on a ke70.

Are the pinon angles the same between rt132 and xt130?

The non-powersteer arms don't have as big an offset from where the balljoint goes in to where the strut bolts. rt132 & xt130 struts should be the same angle according to a good source

old school jap your post is unclearly worded
are you saying the offset is more towards the outside on the power steering arms?

This may be completely irrelevant, but is it not possible to swap the calipers from left to right, making the larger piston on the ideal side??

Obviously it also may have an affect on where the bleed nipple is located...

No because of the way the inlet tube for the brake fluid is on the back of one of the pistons, you can't really swap them around
