i want a new engine for my yr21 tarago preferably with out changing gearboxes.

4Y-E is as "good" as it gets without becoming a project. And it's not really that inspiring.

You could fit an M or JZ series engine, find the correct bellhousing and keep your current gearbox. But it'd be a lot of work to get the motor in and running well. "teamdrinkalot" or similar on this forum has done both 7M and 2JZ into a Hiace (similar engine compartment), his threads might be a good source of info.

Alternatively you could go for an RZ series motor, 4cyl still, so may be easier to fit, but still not a simple bolt in affair.
