Ben,
From the rear of the engine block to the water control tap. Top hose through the firewall.
From the engine thermostat housing to the heater core. Bottom hose through the firewall.
Hope this makes sense.
Hi guys i was just wondering, on the ta22 which heater hose was the in to the heater and which one was the out. Just want to know which one is which, top or bottom.
Thanks
Ben

Thanks for that 71ta22. Which way is the water flowing in each of these hoses though. I am trying to hook them up to a 4A and i know which way the water flows in the each of the 4A outlets so i need to know which way the water actually flows, as in toward or away from the heater.
Thanks
Ben
Im pretty sure that the tap at the rear runs into the heater then the return goes back into the front of the thermostat.
Can anyone else confirm this.
Thanks
Ben
Water heats up in the engine block then runs to the water control tap via the top heater hose and then into the heater core. The water is scavanged by the water pump from the heater core via the bottom heater hose (when the tap is open).
If hoses connected the other way round you will get cold water from the radiator until the cooling system thermostat opens.
dont know but id say for sure the tap is the in.
otherwise how do you stop the water flowing into the core when you turn the heater off. its gotta be the in with out a doubt.
