    Default Are regulators interchangable?

    Hi all,

The regulator in our Beetle (12v) has packed it in. Can we use one from our celica? What do we need to check for? They're both 6 wire, and both have similar build internally, but they're different enough that I can't pick which wire on the celica one matches the wire on the bug. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Cheers

I would just get an original Beetle item and install it, I dont think its worth the problems if you get the wiring wrong, what year model it the beetle as most of them had generators so Im not sure if they would be interchangable.

it's a '73 beetle running a Type 4 Kombi engine... Original beetle item is pretty expensive, and we have spare toyota items laying around...
