Hey dude, this useful?
http://www.microtechefi.com/forum/vi...e+compensation
Im currently running my 4age 20v with a Microtech LT10s ecu, Bosch coils.
While driving with headlights and thermofan on the engine idle drops.
Witzl has advised me of using a aircon idle up valve from an AE92.
Just like to know if the Microtech has a function, and how did you set it up so
it detects electric load and increases the rpm ?
Thanks heaps

Drops revs and the engine stalls on idle, however without the headlight on its fine.
Its common for cars with ac to increase idle on heavy electrical load, just want to see
if anyone has done it using Microtech ecu.
Due to Witzl suggesting you to use an aircon idle valve, I'm assuming there is no electric idle control installed and currently the microtech does not control idle?
If this is the case then you just need to get the throttle bypass valve and the vacuum solenoid and connect to your engine. Connect the solenoid up such it activates the bypass valve when the headlights or thermos come on. (You dont need to connect to the microtech)
If the microtech already controls idle, then you just need to set up an auxilliary input which is active when either the thermos or headlights are on and set the appropriate air bypass etc. I have pasted some stuff from the LT manual here.
2. Auxiliary Input Functions
The four Auxiliary Input functions are used to create an “idle-up” which will be activated whenever the device connected to the
Aux input is activated, as demonstrated in the examples below.
InpRPMlim This function is a Rev limiter that works only when a device connected to the Aux Input is activated.
InpAIRadd Opens the cold air bypass valve (if fitted) by the amount specified in this screen whenever a device
connected to the Aux Input is activated.
InpEnrich Specifies the amount of additional fuel you wish to add to the mixture when a device connected to the Aux
Input is activated.
InpTiming Allows for an adjustment to the timing curve when a device connected to the Aux Input is activated.

it shouldnt die just from alternator load, unless they are massive fans drawing heaps of power.
whats it like with just the head lights on or just the thermo and what does it idle at normaly ?
*oooops didnt read that you had the icsv already connected.*
the icsv may be sticking.

i dont have a funny or cool signature.
I fitted an idle air control valve to my 3S-GTE running a Microtech LT10s a few weeks ago.
I used a PWM idle valve from a Falcon. Cant remember which model.
Pulled it out a car at u-pull-it for a few $$s.
Works brilliantly.
Can control idle speed anywhere from 500RPM to 5000RPM.
The Microtech is set to idle at 880RPM which it holds at quite steadily, no matter the load (AC, headlights, cold-start, etc).
I fitted it directly to the throttle body, replacing the factory unit.
It would be quite easy to have a couple of alloy pipes welded on for use with hose though.

The ISCV is working fine.
However the Microtech doesnt increase the PWM duty, when engine drops rpm and keeps dropping
till it eventually stalls. With lights off it doesnt have any issues.
Ive had the car tuned and got the cold start idle and normal idle set. I'll take it to Castle hill exhausts they supposedly deal alot with Microtech.
thanks heaps
Hi,
As this is for a 4AGE 20V engine, pls put that in the topic or this thread gets removed.

^^^^ thats a little harsh isnt it?
This is a universal ISCV / ECU problem, what engine its on doesnt really matter.
And would it really matter if the engine type isnt in the thread topic anyway?

How'd you go with this problem? I'm having a very similar problem with my 3tgte:
http://www.toymods.org.au/forums/sho...ght=3tgte+idle
I'd be very interested to know what has happened in relation to fixing the problem as it's driving me nuts too. We really want this car to be usable of an evening (as I don't have time to drive it during the day). As it sits, it's difficult to get any use out of it, which is a shame
Anyway, I've been thinking it's related to voltage drop causing the Microtech to get confused but I'm having trouble keeping the voltage up over 12v when lots of accessories are going (ie: Lights+Thermo). Interestingly with my setup, after it's been driven for a while it seems quite happy to idle with lights on for say 30 seconds, but then it starts to hunt -it's like the plugs foul up or something. However, with the thermo and lights going there's no such 30 second wait period... It's just a pain in the butt. Are you experiencing anything like this?

what does microtech do for idle mixtures/timing?
can you just add "anti-stall" tuning in a load cell below idle? to bump it back up? ie a bit richer and more advance below the idle bin, to stop it stalling?

I'm wondering the same, or even if the microtech can detect the voltage drop below a set value and increase the idle. I'm scouring the manual but still haven't found anything useful....

hmm, i thought most ECU's have a pulse width compensation for voltage...
still the solution is more volts![]()
