    Default 7m-gte, 2.5 or 3" exhaust?

A friend of mine recently dropped a 7m into his Cressida, so we've just been discussing what direction to go with the exhaust.

I've seen a few MA70s running 3" with the standard turbo, but i was wondering if it's worth running the 3", whilst maintaining the stock dump pipe attachment (which is only like 2.5", i think)?

The system will be a pretty a straight through with only one resonator in the middle, and a split/twin straight pipe exit (it's not a street car). What size is the norm in this kind of application?

Even if it's from the stock dump? Or do you mean fabricate a new dump, coz that will cost quite a lot more?

Will there be noticeable difference between the two?

Absolutely, definitely, do a full 3" system from the dump back..

You will hardly know yourself - my MA71 ran [email protected] (manual) and [email protected] (before manual conversion) with just the 3" exhaust and a k&n without even a bleed valve added.

3 inch, i think mine has a stock dump flange but the wastegate exit has been kinda encorporated into a 3 inch dump for better flow.

like everyone has said, it is better off getting the dump pipe done too.

if you can't afford it, get dump pipe and to the cat done in 3" and leave the last half of the exhaust til later...

    will make a big difference

Ended up going with 3", then splitting into 2x 2.5" pipes just before the rear crossmember/subframe thing, to allow for more clearance from the ground. 3" would not have fitted with how low it currently is!

I have a mate that will tell you about driving behind my MA71 and it tearing cats eyes out of the road while changing lanes... and I had a 3" exhaust at the time!

Helped my mate pick his car up today. It's one of the most awesome exhaust notes i've heard in a while! 3" to twin 2 1/4" exits. One hot dog in center and the rest are straight pipes!
