Default How to calculate effect of different cams?

Ok, I'm currently planning a decent blacktop build for my AE101 Levin.

I'm trying to work out what cams I want, and all I can find is nebulous suggestions that aren't much help at all...

Is there any way I can calculate the effects particular camshafts have on an engine (torque and power delivery in the RPM range etc)? Even approximate calculations would be better than the info I've found so far.......

Use a good engine simulator, such as Engine Analyser Pro 3.3
I've used it for years and got excellent results with it.

u can download dyno 2003 for free off a torrent if that helps

i couldnt find eng analyzer pro as a free download anywhere and it sounds like it needs a LOT of info about the engine to work

You do need a ton of info for engine analyzer, but if you're going for a serious build you should have all of this anyway. I've only played with it a few times, but I liked the program.

Yea, I got engine analyzer pro. I've almost got all the info sorted. Looks like a pretty good bit of kit.

Just need flow rates for the blacktop head and throttle bodies...

The blacktop TB's have a butterfly size of 45mm IIRC.
