whats wrong with your 1g?
hey i was wondering if any one can help me im after a 1ggte with loom,ecu ,afm ,ect ect i had one lined up at sss but when i rang him to ask if he wanted the couriers cost added in with the engines cost he then told me some one else had a deposit on it and the next one might be in there container 4 weeks awayi thought u would hed mention it at the start lol .
well i then proceded to ring every importer from the engine importers thread and google (with my boss in my ear wanting to know how many phone calls i was makeing and why lol)even some importers in queensland and vic and hearing the same responce 1g dont you mean 1j lol i know there getting old now but my celicas already engineried for a 1g
dose any one have one for sale or know any good importers in sydney or newcastle or were ever. im from the central coast . the 1g cant be that bad can it

it was running a microtech digi computer then then the turbos blew oh and no 3 cylinder is down on compression so yeah fun times lol![]()
Mate good luck i just spent months trying to find one i called every Engine and Front cut dealer in NSW,QLD and ACT but end up going 1JZ as if i cant get one now hows it going to be in another 2-10 years?
Sorry mate but SSS was the only dealer even keen to bring one in i think they have 1gze in stock but hey may have to wait (that sucks)
or the mob in Newcastle (call them dont use net as they advitise one on net but didnt have it)TOYSHOP they mave have one by now.
Not bad, just old. Try finding an 18RG or 3T.. same problem for any old car.
Must.... avoid.... urge... to... upgrade... parts I haven't.... used.... yet.....

thats true 2 years time it will suck big time dose any one have any idea on enginering a 1jz in an ra28 was it hard to pass ect

Mate im neally at that stage now.Will let you know but should be next month (HOPEFULLY)
Just made mounts etc have it in and where it will live now just fit new Radiator exhaust etc (Remember with change over most people will for get this when doing 1JZ)
you will need new Speedo ELEC or re-cal old unit $$$ plus diff ,brakes,Radiator,mounts,wiring,exhaust,Fuel system even lines,So price does add up believe me but im doing every thing except wiring and exhaust should be around $5K after finish including Front cut, install parts (see above) and Loom ,engineering etc.
And expect about 2 weeks to 6 months depending on time mates and dollars,but it fits fairly easy in Single Turbo format in my RA23. GooD LucK.
thanks oziosborn yeah i know hey i just need to find a briefcase full on moneys lolcan i ask one more question tho i rang importers about half cuts today and yesterday how much would you expect to pay the best price i got out of 5 was 3750 for a manual halfcut i thought it sounded pretty good thanks mate

I couldnt afford a Manual version but i got a Auto/1jz Aristo single turbo with only 46500 klm and only $2750 (full front cut) call ekmal at Summo spares he gets plenty and Sydney so local for ya.
honestly you'd be better off doing a 3sgte, it's still a carnt of a conversion but it'll be heaps easier than a 1jz and it will be much nicer to drive in the end.... handle/brake better.... cheaper rego (well it would in qld, we pay based on # of cylinders)... probably easier to engineer/insure too.
They're a great engine.... when I'm finished with my AE82 I've got loose plans to do an old Hilux with a 3SGTE, but RN2x Hiluxes are very very hard to find so I might have to go for a 30 series.
