    Default Engine mount rubbers.

Came acroos a problem last for my engine conversion. i have swapped the engine omunts off a 1jzgte of a JZA70 on put them onto my 2jzgte out of an aristo. Unfortunately one of the engine monts rubbers had a crack in it and broke of last night. Just glad it did it now and not when in had the motor fully installed and running.

What are my chances of finding a replacement one or set. i have rung a few reckers they don't have any spare. So i'm now in a bit of a dilemma. Is there any other rubber mounts i could get a away with or a cheap way of get getting around this?

They can't be any longer than the 1jzgte JZA70 ones.

Call toyota, or try repco. Repco often have replacement rubber mounts for australian delivered vehicles.

    JZA70 != Aus delivered vehicle.

They are available from Toyota but the price, as you would expect, is utterly ludicrous. You might want to look at getting a pair of custom urethane mounts made.

Aye, and the usual suspects dont have anything which is interchangable either. The custom mounts which Norbie mentions would be a pretty damn good option.

Damn toyota are no help. Same with Repco, the guy said he had JZA80 ones, then said they don't stock em. How much are custom ones?
Who would make them for me?
I have temporarly stuck it back together for mounting purposes. While i am a fan of sikaflex, I don't think sikaflex will help that much when it comes to the power figure i will be attempting to achieve.

Found out toyota out @ sutherland are the people to talk to.
Quoted me $260 a mount , i need only one but would buy two so they'll both be new.
Gearbox box rubber mount is $80.

Might have to bite the bullet if this the last resort.

Give Noltec a ring, they may be able to make you up a custom set.

I do !! but it is in S.A Its called adelaide Technical Rubber they do WICKED work and have done some mounts for my car as i needed exta hard mounts to get rid of some flex.

The bloke is tops and said if iwas ever to break one of his mounts he would re do it at no charge!
    I said i would try!!

He does need the engine mount plates though as he doesnt make them.
You can just grind the rubber off the old ones. but if you do make sure that you measure the spacing first. ( distance of rubber between the two plates )

All i can suggest is to look up urethane or rubber in phone book and ring around.
If worst comes to worst you can sent to me and ill take to him. He charges about $80 a mount. so by the time you pay for postage you will still prob be infront.

2 brand new toyota genuine mounts for my 7M came in at $577.

    dont complain mine cost more!

i recall the guys in the store down the road from me, stocking a mount, for a V8, that was, damjn near identical, we found this out when search for new mounts for a mates sr20 silvia, and i only remembered about them after i had spent them monies.

go down to a parts specialist store, and ask them if they have anything similar...

i found some, that might work. From Dellow Automotive for the pricly sm of $20 each plus gst.

They are short in height than the originals, but as i need to fab the brakets from the chassis might give the room i needed hieght wise.

    Try www.mackayrubber.com.au

They have mounts for just about everything (though supra isn't listed under toyota?)

But for all the early models

    corolla back to KE10
    corona back to RT40
    celica back to TA22

Plus thay make a variety of general mounts that suit just about anything.

Plus suspension bushes, heater and rad hoses and pedal rubbers. Online PDF catalogues with pics
