    Default 18RG Throttle cable

I have almost completed my conversion in my Ra28 to an 18RG, just a few minor electricals and plumbing to sort out and the throttle cable. I am running Twin solex 45mm carbies. The action is between the two carbies and pulls in an up direction. We have been stuffing around with the linkage system but that i a mega pain in the arse. So we have decided to go to a cable. The problem is all the cables we have lying around are all to big, we measured up for the length we need about 27" (700mm) seems to be about right. This is from the linkage that comes out of the firewall to the carbie action.

What i want to know is if there is someone out there thats done this conversion, and what type of cars cable i need to find. Also should i go with the linkage from the pedal to the firewall and cable from there OR cable all the way from the pedal.

Pics and as much info would be a great help.

    Like this 2T version, Stormbird.

The 8mm ball on the Throttle Arm is replaced with a 6mm one to suit the cable I use and nothing else is changed at the carbs for the 18R-G.

Goes from the end of the pedal using an inner cable clamp and replaces all the OEM linkage.

If you use Ram Filter elements the bracket can be adapted to sit behind the filter flanges as shown.

If you use Ram Tubes it sits between the bolts holding the ram tubes on and their flanges.

    Regards

    Rodger
