    Default fitting Torsen to MA61

hey, does anyone know of any guides to fitting truetrack torson to f series MA61, its got a shagged stock LSD at the mo.

Apparently the carrier/ crownwheel bearings dont have adjusters for preload/backlash and you just use spacing shims to set it up in the housing? is this the case?
Want to make sure i'v got all the parts to do it etc
    cheers

Pretty sure there's a decent howto on celicasupra.com, maybe try looking there?

i ended up machining down factory shims in my lathe.

the truetrac was naturally narrower so a combination of shims were used on each side.

the TSRM gives you a good outline of whats needed.

youll have to put it together and check the back lash and bearing preload yourself.

    yeah, cool, thanks brett!
might be easier to pull whole diff housing out? or did you take centre out under the car?
i'm hoping to leave the pinion in, obviosly i'll check the preload on it and see what it feels like,
    thanks heaps

yep check input pinion preload and bearing 'feel'. no need to remove it if there is no problems

search for the diff in this http://www.cygnusx1.net/Supra/Librar...2/default.aspx

i would pull the whole diff out for sure. mount it upward in a vice while you play with shims.

use that TSRM as a guide, i found it pretty good.

yeah, prob best idea. i'm gunna grab another diff and build it up with the torsen then swap them over.

That way i can shim the stock one up and put it back in for a drift day when needed
    thanks brett.
