Hi mate
Don't bother running without an intercooler, you will either end up with a disappointing result, or a blown engine....!
It is rare that you can fit a normal air-to-air front mount intercooler without needing to trim the area behind the front bar. Your other option is to fit a water-to-air intercooler... they have a small heat exchanger (like a radiator, but smaller) mounted at the front and an intercooler core that you mount in your engine bay (or wherever you choose).
Here are two pictures of my water to air setup:
As you can see it is quite compact as far as the room it uses in the front of the car - just a very thin alloy heat exchanger mounted which you can barely see a small edge of, and a cooling fan on the front of it (black). You really have to look closely to see it... and from the front with the grille on you literally can't see anything.
You then simply run a pipe from your turbo outlet to your throttle body with something like this in between:
and run small water hoses from the heat exchanger at the front to the two small fittings you can see on the above. You will need to plumb a small water pump in one of the lines to circulate the water of course.
PWR sells complete kits but they are not cheap, you can always piece one together yourself from generic or ebay parts if you prefer but the PWR items aren't a bad solution.
