    Default wastegate/merger collector

    quick question.

what would be the best option for the manifold pipe at my collector, A or B (in the lovely diagram below).

does position A hinder flow in any way which effects performance (HP/torque)? i know its best as far as boost control etc goes.

this is for a 2-1 manifold im making for a 1jz which will sit a gt3040r and see no less then 1bar boost.

    cheers

well i am not quite sure, but B might be a bit restrictive wat with no way for the gases to exit!!

the only advice i can offer is if the gases are being reversed in flow(ie backwards off the mainfold) to get to the gate, its restrictive and will affect power etc. you want the gases to be collected and transfer d smoothly...

I dont think you would see much of a difference(power/response) between either mounting point-provided youve got the wastegate connected at or after the last merge in the manifold it should be fine Think about how many different ways people mount wastegates and that 99% of them work just fine.
P.s its easier to control boost levels when your aiming for 1bar + rather than 3-4 psi, remember basically
small boost = big wastegate High boost = smaller wastegate
    GA23(never finished-now with cracked block ) JZX83 (Tyre eater) 3sgte AE86. by now i should know better.

dude, ive seen people mount wastegates to the REAR housing on the turbine (yes i know its f**ked) but it works, may not work the best but it actually operates

so my point is, neither A or B will make a single different, manifold pressure is manifold pressure, neither of those options are restrictive in any way so basically i would think about where in the engine bay it would be easy to acess the wastegate for adjustment / repair / replacement and go from there
