Default 1UZ to HILUX speedo hookup?

I got a 93 RN90 2wd LUX with a soarer 1uz init and have got all gauges in the hilux dash to work except for the speedo,it seems the soarer auto trans has 2 speed sensors, one for the ecu to tell it what speed the vehicle is doin and another one they call a back-up,which do i use? The back-up one produces an AC type current is says in the manual then the soarer combination meter changes it to the flat band equal up and down bumps that i assume the hilux dash can read,(its elec speedo as well),another thing i thought of is the ecu doesn't know vehicle speed in my case it only knows output speed caus my diff ratio will be different from the soarer and tyre size etc, any advice welcome.

Wire the large 3 wire sensor to the same 3 wires that the original sensor connected to.

    Done.

EDIT: Your speedo will probably be out, get a Jaycar speedo correction kit to correct it.

So is that the ecu sensor or the back-up one, did you just cut the wires and join to your speedo or tap into them like splice the insulation back and solder to the wire so it still goes back into the loom and do whatever it did before, thanx for the quick reply by the way, i checked out that Jaycar kit,its $55 and seems to be adjustable if i ever change diff ratio again, sweet.

The backup sensor IS the ecu sensor.
The small 2 wire sensor is the backup/ecu sensor.

The large 3 wire sensor (which is driven by a speedo cog) is the one you need.

EDIT: generally the speedo wiring is part of the engine loom, but not always. If its still there, it should almost be plug and play. If it was part of the engine loom, you'll need to work out which 3 wires behind the glovebox are the 3 you want, and connect them to the new 3 wires that go down to the speedo sensor (which WILL be part of the new engine loom)
