    Dom,

AE71 runs a two wire horn system... very basic stuff.
Power is constant to the horn, and the earth is switched through the steering wheel. My bet is some dildo hasnt connected the horn button wire in the steering wheel, or hasnt got it working properly somehow....

Use mr multimeter (or other voltage tester) to see if you have:
1/ +12V at one wire at the horn.
2/ EARTH at the other wire when you push the horn button on the steering wheel.
    ...... butt scratcher?!

take the steering wheel off and take the back off
make sure the connector in side the horn is still connected properly

    thanks karl

ive been pretty hard working at it

now ive come to the conclusion that:

if BOTH horns arent connected a complete circuit isnt being made. thus neither horns will operate (had this problem with my KE55 when it has a faulty horn)

i get a complete circuit on the right horn wires but on the left the wire that connects to the earth doesnt want to work :S

wire to the steering wheel earth is green with 2 red stripes

white is the power i presume

but yea i still dont know wats going on

karrlll do u want that case u know you doooooo wat time u finish work

    horn works

i now have a head ache

basically one of the two wires that returns to the horn must be fucked and its screwed the connection, which sucks alot becasue it means i have to take apart all the wiring, pull off the front gaurd and stuff

just hardwire it with a switch in the dash. gotta be easier for when you get carved up on a roundabout, just switch it on, keep driving 2 handed and switch it off as u exit

don't bother ripping apart the loom ... just run a new wire from A to B.
My AE71 had the same problem ... I ran a new wire from the horn back to the steering wheel - sweet.
