Default ae82 and ae86 power steering rack

can somebody please help me with the following.
is a ae82 and ae86 power steering rack the same unit? they look very similar. i would like to do power steering in my ra28. and have read up on the ae86 job. but was wondering if i could get away using an ae82 one cause one is for sale and if i could adapt it to a ke70 crossmember i will.
any help on the ae series would be much appreciated. i know somebody on here will know

    mmmm very interesting subscribing!
Has anyone got any more info for this? are the splines on the steering column different?
Got an RA28 with a 4A conversion, using AE86 cross member, and KE70 steering column. Just so happen to have a PS pump lying around!
Did some quick reading and it seems AE86 PS racks aren't compatible with the KE70 column.

    Subscribing...

I still have the power steering pump for my 3S sitting in my garage just in case something like this is possible.

Splines are the same between the AE82 and AE86 racks. I checked that when i was going to do a rack conversion to the TA22. Everything else is up to you.
