Converting back to Live axle rear is not going to be easy... suggest you look for an RA60 which is T series live axle already!
As for making 4age bolt in, might be worth looking for some AA63 info
Cheers

Always loved the coupe RA65. I currently have a bit of money to play with and a Corolla full of parts, so my questions go...
How hard would it be to put a 4AGE in? (I realise heavier shell so would convert to a forced induction of sorts)
And I hear the RA65's have an IRS BUT you can place the Live axle rear back in...so would it be possible to put my Jap T-series sprinter diff in?
I know they're shorter, but if it's gonna be easier...
Throw some suggestions at me for engines...but I've kinda ruled out 18RG's or 22's cos of the 'old, hard to get parts' factors. And 3SGE is out cos again they suck for converting, might as well start with what I've got, but yeah, would love to hear some suggestions...

Considered the 60 option, but someone said it wouldn't be that hard? Must have been told wrong, know what would make it tricky?
Will definitely hunt around for some AA63 info. Cheeeerz
What makes it hard is that physically the metal work of the rear end is very different
The RA65 (IRS) doesn't have the pick up points for the 5 link...springs are different, etc etc
Seriously go find an RA60 and park the RA65 next to it and compare
Very different...

Thaaaat's unfortunate. Damn, looks like I'm going to have to get an RA60. Spanks.
As wilbo has said, converting a RA65 back to live axle is a sizable engineering task.
Buy a RA65 and enjoy 22RE torque and massive neg camber wear on your tyres.
Buy a RA60, put your jap LSD in it and brakes on it. Mounts for the diff are in different spots. Only just though. Some bend the arms. There's no bolt in style crossmember to suit an A block, so it's custom mounts for you.
Buy a TA22 and convert it to 4AGE, enjoy poor driving position and steering box.
Or finish your corolla.
The 18R-G. The GOOD 2 Litre Tractor motor.
not entirely true. there are no options available in australia, but japan got a few different models with a 4AG option. AA63 celica's and carinas and i think AT14x corona would all swap in no worries, cept we didn't get them here... as usualOriginally Posted by Javal
IF... IF you could find the mounts for a AT141 rona you would be set but they only made 1500 of them im pretty sure so finding the mounts are next to near impossible.
AA63, At141 etc... should all have the same Xmembers comparitivley to there aus spec R serise motor counterparts, its the metal mounts which should varies... (e.g Gz10 and MZ10 xmembers are the same, mounts different)
go an Ra60 and swap the front to a Ra65 front FTW!, but unless your going to be really competive theres nothing wrong with the IRS, .locker, stiff springs and shocks and it will slide really well.
but if you want to install a 2way that you alrady have then Ra60 with T serise is the way to go.
4age mounts straight in with one stock 22re mount on one side and one 4a RWD mount on the other...not sure which side is which anymore but thats how i mounted my 20v into my ra65...motor has a very VERY slight angle in this position but possibly just worn mounts holding it in as i can see them looking like sh** at the moment and sagging...
well thats my experience, better late than never![]()
I think for the hassle you might as well go a 3S or even a six in there like a MA61 etc
I looked into engine swaps when I had my RA65, the lack of torque kinda turned me of a 4ag, not unless you went turbo of course![]()
As already mentioned your better of finding a ra60, would be way to much effort to convert the IRS to solid, not even sure you could actually do it due to different spring positions etc
