    Default 3SGTE wiring help

    Hey guys,

Have had a look around the net and cant find the information I'm looking for thats specific to my situation.

I purchased an ae93 Corolla with a 3s-gte conversion maybe around 18 months ago. I am in the process of rebuiding it and the wiring side of things is giving me a bit of grief.

It has a Haltech e6x ecu running in piggyback mode and for some reason has 2 fuse boxes. The one from the GT4 the motor came from, and the original 4AGE fusebox (it is a GTi Corolla).

I would like to wire the e6x in stand alone mode and get rid of the piggyback. The GT4 fusebox seems to have wires spliced into the 4AGE fusebox? It looks like a total mess.

I do have wiring diagrams for both cars, so my question how do I tackle this? Should I get rid of the GT4 fusebox and use the 4AGE one? How does one go about it? Also should I do all the wiring before I put the motor back in? It is a real tight squeeze so there isn't much room when the motor is in there!

Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

I can't offer a lot of help at the moment, but in the next couple of months I will be wiring up the 3SGTE in my AE82 with an aftermarket ECU.

You should only have one fuse box, the conversion on your car was probably done a little dodgily but this is your opportunity to fix it.

if you buy a new harness for the e6x it will come with 3 relays 4 fuses in the harness already and you just wire up the engine without using the factory toyota fuses and relays.

that way just remove the complete 3sgte engine harness and only use the haltech harness on the engine.
