Isn't it there to teach people rather than giving them a general slapping/bashing?
Report the post to a moderator or admin. There is a little report button up near the rep button. I know it doesn't have the same vigilante justice feel that neg repping does but it'll get the job done.Originally Posted by twentyEight
Hi,
But how does a mod -ve rep such a thread? The mods use the rep button like everyone else, plus the ability to edit/delete posts. If the mod is called upon they will only be able to edit/delete the post and not -ve rep anyone. While this removes any offending post, how does the mod give the user a bit of a tickle to their rep? Or, will the mod still be able to issue rep in the NCD while ordinary users cannot?

It is very much possible to have the rep button display for mods and admins but not for general users. I'll just have to learn how to do it I guess.
On the other hand we really need to get updated to the latest version of the software so that mods aren't using reputation to repremand people. It will be warnings and automated time out if people get multiple warnings.
That would be ideal IMO...Originally Posted by Joshstix
Hi,
Indeed!
Where is the source code? Is it available for perousal or a licensed thing? I'd like to have a captain cook at it, if possible.

PS: Ahh, forget that. I'm checking the vB site and can get the info from there.

Yeah the code is pretty much available if you have a license from my understanding. The problem is if we make changes to the actual code the forum becomes unsupported by Vbulletin and we are at risk of having it break and not being able to fix it.
The changes to get the rep button to display or not only require some editting of the template for the displaybit.
I've put my hand up before, and I'll put my hand up again, I do this for a living and if you a hand code related then just send me a PM, always happy to donate my knowledge to Toymods...Originally Posted by Joshstix
Just another note, not sure if its just in KE dedicated thread, but alot of tehnical information is always being discussed and help is always being given here repeatedly with a technical nature. Maybe such threads should be considered along side the technical status with contribution or rep powers and what not? Just an observation.

I'm not complaining, far from it, but in all reality a lot of people shouldn't be getting the rep they have just because there car looks cool I think it should take a little more effort then that.
