    Default 20v headers design

    Hello,

I an chasing some information re header design for a RWD 20v conversion.

I am putting a 20 into a KE35 and the common 4-1 units can not be made to clear the starter motor and pitman arm. Therefore construction of a 4-2-1custom set is required.

The question is what primaries to connect up to the first collectors.

The easiest build is to join primaries for cylinders 1&2 and 3&4 into the first collectors.

The original factory FWD headers were 1/3 and 2/4 and this is recomended on some sites on the net.

Commonly available headers that are sold join primaries 1&4 and 2&3 into 2 collectors.

Can anyone help me with the problem if any by going the easy route ie 1&2 and 3&4.

    best regards peter

you need to connect 1 and 4 and 2 and 3. this is the only way to do it to get even scavenging.

firing order on a i4 cylinder is 1 3 4 2 or 1 2 4 3. if you stare at that for long enough it should make sense, sorry i cant explain it any better, my brain isnt working.
