    Default help installing 5sfe camshafts?

    can anyone help me with the camshaft timing on a 5sfe I have just changed a head on a camry and installing the cams and there is about 3 different marks on each cam so not sure which ones to line up?

    It might help to eliminate the wrong positions if you note that both intake and exaust valves should be closed at TDC.

    oh yes its not that straightforward as there are assembly reference marks on the cam gear, which are not the ones you need.
    you install the intake one first , the orientation is not so important as you only need to mesh it properly with the gear on the exhaust cam, then you put the exhaust one in.

    basically just put in the 1 cam (usually he one with the lock bolt,split gear)
    there will be 1 dot and 2 dots on each cam.
    Just line up the 1 dot on each cam and make sure when you turn the cam around to the 2 dots they line up as well.
    Once they are bolted in remove the 10mm lock bolt and then youre done.
