A good plan!
Hey all,
I've noticed ever since nickel sold his ta22, there hasn't been a proper celica cruise.
Assuming he has other commitments now not owning a celica? and all....so should we organise one?
Or is there anything in the lineup soon?

Hi its Oscar on Ian's computer. I'm hanging out for the Hiroshima Screamer cruise (Sept 25th?) refer to previous thread. But even that's too far away for me. I've bee arguing with Ian (over a beer or two) that we need to do Echuca to see the 23 that's virtually brand new. Ian says its a bit far away and that we should wait for warmer weather so that we can camp for a night or two on the river. Well, for me that's just not viable. With 2 little kids to pack up (cos I only really get to spend quality time with them on the weekends) it's logistically impossible to do in the Celica, and to spend nights away from them over the weekend just isn't gonna happen. So it has to be a day-trip for me. I looked up on whereis and that says its only a 3 hour trip from my house in Boronia. I do that on a daily basis in my Liteace van around the 'burbs. God forbid I should enjoy doing that on a Saturday or Sunday cruise in my 23 on the freeway with my fellow Celica boffins! The dealership at where it is however is only open on a Saturday morning, being a country dealership. But Ian's spoken to the owner and he said that if we were to come up, for the occasion, they might keep it open a little longer for us. So I put it to the masses - WHO WOULD BE UP FOR IT LATE AUGUST?! That should provide plenty of time to get everyone's fingers out of their bottoms so they can grab their steering wheels and hit the road!

you two seem to of had slack day, but good to see a cruise is in the making and i will follow the celica train anywhere.
yep i agree
what we need is a good plan

Yeah i in too. We have been talking about it long enough.
Bring on Echuca- I'm in!!![]()
Oscar again. Sorry Ian, I think I'll just stay over tonight,. Oh, and while you're in the kitchen Ian, could you get me another beer? (man gets thirsty taking over someone's home) and have you got any more of those choc chip cookies? I digress... Exactly 1 month from now is the Saturday the 29th of August. I will politely ask Ian to see if he has time to ring the dealer general of Echuca to see if perhaps this day might be ok for us to pop in to say hello. A BBQ lunch of course is always on our agenda, something we 'could' do at the dealership, but it would be aesthetically appealing to do so on the banks of the Murray (I can see it now, ahhh... just another glorious photo opportunity... i keep digressing/dreaming, whatever...). Anyway, I will be over at Ian's place again tomorrow night (coming over with Ray - drives the white Capella) so we'll chat further about it then. Till then ladies and gentlemen, spread the Celica gospel. WE RIDE AGAIN! YEEHAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oscar here. Ian does indeed have family commitments this evening so Ray and I won't be going to his house tonight. Instead we're congregating at Ian's on Sat afternoon. To set the record straight, neither Ian, Ray or myself are related. I just happen to live right near Ray's mechanical workshop, & we both play soccer, untill very recently, in the same team. So needless to say, we talk about our cars a lot. And Ian, well, we just like him. We go along with his jokes and laugh along with him, y'know, 'cos he's a senior citizen and all. Every now and then he'll crack a real funny & he'll offer you some of his 'pensioner beer' he makes keeping his company worth your while!
