hi im currently restoring my mz20 7mgte soarer with i pulled out the ecu.
i noticed some time ago that it doesn't have a map sensor as me last ma70 had one.
i puled out the ecu and i noticed a "sensor hack" instead of a map sensor.
whats the go with it and would i benefit with removing it and adding a map sensor and or is it possible to add a map sensor and remove the maf ?
thanks
7mgte use a AFM (AirFlow Meter).
No Map sensor... unless it is a Turbo A, in which case it is Map sensor and no AFM (Not many turbo A's around tho)
There are ways to remove the AFM and make it MAP sensor'd... MAP ECU, and HKS? made items to do it...
Cheers
Wilbo
As above, ecu runs off AFM signal, however there is a map sensor for the turbo boost gauge on the dash.

HAC (High Altitude Compensation) sensor->only needed for '87-'88 models, is inside the ECU on '89+ (
Correct me if I'm wrong, but is this a sensor that senses the air density of ambient air outside?
How would it do so if it were inside the ECU? does it have some sort of hose running to the atmospheric air which is outside because the temperatures would be higher in the engine bay?
Its a Altittude sensor to compensate for lack of oxygen up in the mountains, during hill climbs.
